The system works quite simply. Firstly you attach a fixed pin onto your phone. It works with any phone, not just an iPhone, since all you need is a smooth flat surface to attach the pin. You slide your phone into the top part of the E-Clip. But when you need to release your iPhone you just press the button on the side of the E-Clip and it will be released through the bottom section. That’s very intuitive design.
Now the backside of the E-Clip could be mounted onto your belt via the belt clip plate, or dashboard, via adhesive plate. Those plates have 2 small pins, which clip into your E-Clip. If you have your phone “attached” to your car dashboard, there are two small release buttons on the side of the E-Clip, with which in a few seconds you can have it detached from the dash and locked into your belt.
Well, as you’ve seen there, the system is very simple and quick to operate. The most miraculous part of this combination is the E-Clip. This very-high tech looking device is made from stainless steel, so you know it’s tough. Belt clip is very strong too. It even has a small hooked end, so it wouldn’t slide from your belt. You can also attach it to bags, or even on your pants.
Generally I found the overall experience of using it quite great. Both sliding your phone in and removing it is quite easy and natural. . The clip itself looks like something from the science fiction movie. Also I felt that it is a very secure system. You just know that things won’t break on you. Additionally the Shift System is quite small and elegant. Gone is the era of giant plastic belt clips!
